April 10, 1949 - September 27, 2021
David (Dave) John Harris passed away September 27, 2021, at the age of 72 surrounded by his family at NRGH. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Linda, his sons Anthony (Veronica) and Christopher (Jen), grandchildren Maddison, Austin, Vivian, and Theo. He also leaves behind his sister Sandy (Doug) Groth, brother Bob (Rosa) Davis, brother in-laws Frank Radelja and John (Lily) Radelja, nieces and nephews.
His early years were spent camping, hiking and four wheeling with the Sidewinders Four Wheel drive club. Many weekends were spent at Horne Lake.
Once the boys came along, Dave rarely missed the opportunity to take them camping, fishing or exploring. Countless Friday nights were spent watching the Clippers games. He always had a love of the water and could be found on one of the many boats he owned over the years. After boating it was the sports car and the Old English Car Club, he and Linda took the Triumph TR6 to shows and events all over BC and down the coast to California.
Dave spent most of his career working with the Harris family, first at Jack Harris Chev Olds, then Tom Harris and finally Harris Mazda. In retirement he enjoyed regular meetings with his coffee buddies. He also looked forward to annual family camping trips to Saratoga Beach, taking in the races at Saratoga Speedway, and spending time with his grandkids. Music was his happy place, whether turning up the tunes at home or at the Blues Festival.
Dave was always up for a conversation and loved being the center of attention especially at all the Car Club functions. Never short on witty comments and smart remarks, he loved making people laugh.
Celebration of life to follow in the Spring.
