In Loving Memory ~
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of David (Dave) Greenway on June 27, 2022 in Central Saanich, BC. Dave was born in Nanaimo, BC on July 13, 1939.
He is survived by his wife Shannon, his children Kevin (Cindy), and Jeff ; grandchildren Nico, Caitlyn, Owen, Jacob and Melody; siblings Bruce (Carol), Marion, Doreen (Bob), Don (Joy) and Lorna; and many nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He touched so many lives and had an amazing impact on everyone that knew him, with his easy-going nature and love of telling tales.
Dave and Shannon were married in Victoria, BC in 1966. Living in various houses in Victoria and the peninsula where they had two boys, before moving to Salt Spring Island where David (with the help of family and friends) built a family home and started a small hobby farm.
After nearly a decade on the Island, and commuting via ferry, the family moved to Deep Cove in 1987. Dave worked at the federal governments Forestry Centre for over 25 years, until he retired in 1992. He loved spending time with his family and friends, finding comfort in his various house projects.
There will be a celebration of life at Mary's Bleue Moon Café in Sidney on July 16, 2022 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Dave wanted a party to remember him by with lots of love, laughter and tall tales shared by all.
