David Boyd

Dave Boyd of Ladysmith, BC passed away peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the age of 80 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Heather Magnuson, Jason Boyd, Ross Storie; grandchildren: Dylan, Tyler, Evelyn, Maddy, and Leslee, and great grandchildren. He will also be missed by daughter in law Michelle Boyd, Heather and Jason's mother, Gerri Erickson and many dear friends and extended family in the Cowichan Valley and Vancouver area. He was predeceased by son, Raymond Storie.

Dave grew up in Kitsilano and spent his summers in the Cowichan Valley. He was the proud manager of Russell Farm Market starting in the 1980's. His love of the market was his passion and his life. He was a longstanding member of the Chemainus Rotary Club, and volunteer Firefighter in Chase River, BC. As a young man he enjoyed long distance swimming and swam across the Strait of Georgia. He also enjoyed boxing, downhill skiing, antique picking in Cadillac, SK, and had a great ear for Zydeco music. He loved to travel, and his favorite destinations were England and Louisiana.

He will be missed by all who knew him. Special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Jubilee Hospital for their care and compassion. A Celebration of Dave's Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the he Royal Canadian Legion, 9775 Chemainus Road, Chemainus, BC.
