Daryl passed away peacefully at age 85, on September 21, 2022, in Duncan, BC. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Douglas Johnson; daughter Catherine J. Johnson; sons David C. Johnson and Bruce J. Johnson (Dianne) all of Duncan, BC; son Douglas G. Johnson and grandson Connor S. Johnson (Veronica) of Three Hills, Alberta; and granddaughter Talia C.Vaughn (Adam), of Manitou Springs, Colorado, USA.
Daryl is predeceased by her sister Lois W. Bell on March 31, 2018, in Victoria, BC, and survived by her siblings, sister Judy Woodley (Norm) of Hope, BC; her brother Craig Hooper (Ruth) of Vanderhoof, BC; and brother-in-law David Johnson (Doris) of Calgary, Alberta. Daryl’s lifelong passion was natural history; nothing gave her more pleasure than setting off early in the morning, binoculars in hand, to go birding in nearby meadows, wetlands and woods.
