July 22, 1944 - March 31, 2021
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Darlyne Rose Walker (nee Anderson). Darlyne was born in Victoria, BC on July 22, 1944, and after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease, she passed away on March 31, 2021 with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.
Darlyne is predeceased by her birth mother Sigrid Hed, and her foster mother Kathleen Anderson. Darlyne will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure to be her friend, but most of all by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra & Johann Karason.
Darlyne lived in Willow Point all of her life and spent many years living on the same property she grew up on. She took great pride in her beautiful waterfront home, and she worked tirelessly on her gardens, which were a source of great joy to her.
Darlyne began her working career at the Royal Bank of Canada in 1964. Over the years, she worked for BC Hydro, Southside Welding, and finally Elk Falls Mill. She retired from Elk Falls Mill in 2006 due to her Parkinson's disease. At Elk Falls she made many close friends, all of which could always count on her for a big smile, and a good laugh.
Darlyne's family would like to thank her many wonderful friends for helping and supporting her through the past few difficult years of her life. We also would like to thank all the wonderful & caring people at Evergreen Seniors Home and Yucalta Lodge, in particular Sandra & Susie, 2 very special ladies. A celebration of life will be held post-covid.
