October 3, 1934 - April 19, 2021
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Dan on Monday, April 19, 2021 at the age of 86 years.
Born into a large family in Humboldt, Sask. to Anna (Letang) and Gerhard Meyer, he was the youngest of his five brothers, Lawrence, Arnold (Bernice), Leo, Henry (Adele), and Al (Joan). He was an older brother to his two sisters, Marian and Ann (Donald).
He moved to Port Alberni to begin his adult life, meeting his wife, Evlyn (Jaworski), and having their three children, Ricky (deceased), Danny (Joanne), and Norm (Mary). He had a few jobs before settling at the MacMillan Bloedel APD mill where he worked until his retirement at age 57. He enjoyed volunteering at Cherry Creek Fire Department during his career at M&B.
In his retirement he loved golfing, game nights, and spending as much time as he could with his family, especially his grandchildren, Carly, Lindsay (Brandon), Nicole, and Kristen (Adam). He will be missed greatly and will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, brother, father, and grandpa.
