With great sadness we announce Dan's passing on Wednesday June 29, 2022 in Nanaimo BC after a 9 month battle of cancer.
He leaves to forever miss him, his wife and partner of 31 years, Patricia Battrum, his siblings, Jim Battrum, Joanne Battrum, Dianne Boersma and brother in law, Oly Boersma and several step children, grandchildren and friends.
Dan was predeceased by his parents Douglas and Patricia Battrum and step son Jeremy Stokes.
Dan was born in Port Coquitlam, BC, and loved 4x'ing in his Landcruiser and gathering around the fire with friends and family. He had a strong faith in god. He was always jolly and loved by many friends, co workers and family. He was not often seen without a BIG smile on his face.
Dan took great pride in his job at Quality foods as a truck driver. He was known for his boisterous laughter and always had a kind smile and words for those around him.
Dan was the best husband, proud stepfather and grandfather. He was especially proud of his step daughter, Rhiana when she graduated with honours with her Bachelor's degree from VIU.
His grandchildren, Riley, Raylene and Renaya whom he helped Rhiana raise and loved like his own will forever have a special place in his heart.
A service will be held at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 795 Island Hwy West Parksville B.C. at 2:30 pm Saturday, August 13, 2022. Following, a Celebration of Life will be held in Dan's honour at 1581 Alberni Highway in Coombs from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. All are welcome.
