Dani was given the gift of life, and like all of us, she had to give it back. That gift arrived October 5, 1950 and after an incredible journey, she gave it back early Sunday morning, December 10, 2017. 67 glorious years of family time, wonderful friends, special friends, travels and adventures, giving of her time and her love to those less fortunate.

Dani was an amazing mix of many things: compassion, activist, trailblazer, dancer, listener, Irish, angels, big sister, top cousin and best friend....

Dani was predeceased by her mother and father, Eunice and Mike Dooher of Colorado Springs (formerly North Bay and Ottawa, ON).

She proudly leaves behind her beloved and adored children Matt (Victoria, BC) and Naida (Chicago, Ill), her husband and friend Bill (Nanaimo), her sisters Loretta Anne (Brantford, ON), Patti (Colorado Springs, CO), Theresa (Denver, CO) and brothers Bob (Colorado Springs, CO), Mike (Langley, BC), Sean (Nanaimo, BC) and Christopher (Colorado Springs, CO) and their families.

She also leaves behind her wonderful Dooher, Saya aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of life was held earlier this week at the Sands Funeral Home in Nanaimo. Thanks to David and the team at the Sands for helping us celebrate Dani.

Thanks to Dani's friends in Nanaimo for supporting her and for your wonderful warm and caring welcome to her family during this difficult time. And a special thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Palliative Care Unit at the Nanaimo Hospital for the wonderful care of Dani and her family. We truly felt like we were at home, surrounded by love.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Dani to Nanaimo's 7-10 Club, serving people with dignity and respect, www.nanaimo710club.com.
