Cyril Patrick Flynn, born March 17, 1927 in Little Bay, Newfoundland passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on May 1, 2019 surrounded by family.

"Cy" as he liked to be called will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Marion (nee Fudge) and his children Janet Kupecz (Joe), Paul Flynn, Sandra Dunford (Tim), Maureen Flynn and Colleen Flynn (Dave Wood). He was predeceased by his eldest child Diane Webber. His legacy includes his much-loved grandchildren, Jennifer, Patrick, Carla, Krista, Kieren, Rhys and Sydney as well as great grandchildren, Logan, Sofia, Lincoln, Aiden, Lucas, Austin, Kashton and Enayah.

Cy joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1952 and with his growing family travelled throughout Canada and Europe. With Marion at his side, these two Newfoundlanders made many life-long friends over the decades. Cy loved music, art and had a delightful sense of humour and a ready smile and chuckle for all. His love of Irish and Newfoundland music was infectious for family and friends alike and many a St. Patrick's Day was celebrated in the Flynn home. A good ole' Flynn argument and a wee bit of whiskey was often a good night's entertainment.

Cy was a faithful member of the Knights of Columbus and well known for his contributions to pot luck church dinners. Cy was a foodie and loved to experiment with recipes and many a family member and friend benefitted from his love of cooking and Marion's love of hospitality.

Please join the family for a Mass and celebration of life on Wednesday, May 8th at Christ the King Catholic Church, Courtenay at 11 am. Interment and reception to follow.
