Cynthia Margot Jane Price

February 6, 2022

August 5, 1944 - February 6, 2022
Jane passed away peacefully surrounded by family, finally succumbing to a battle with cancer bravely fought. She is survived by Donald Grant, her adoring husband of 35 years, her loving brothers Bryan and Keith and sister-in-law Brenda. She will be dearly missed by her nieces: Angela, Jennifer, Sarah and nephew Geoffrey and grand nephews and nieces -Nathan, Maddox, Ruby, Olive and Teo. She closely followed the evolving lives of the younger generations.
Jane was born and grew up in Duncan, daughter of Fred and Sheila Price. She attended Queen Margaret's and Strathcona Schools and went on to attain a B.A. from the University of Victoria and a Master of Library Science from the University of British Columbia. Her working career as a highly regarded medical librarian first at the UBC Medical library then as the librarian at the Nanaimo Regional Hospital brought her into contact with many interesting people ranging from students to future Nobel Prize winners.
Jane and Don were keen boaters and were long time members of the Maple Bay Yacht Club. They also enjoyed checking out distant shores from the deck of cruise ships, crossing the Equator and the International Date Line several times.
Jane's gentle nature and wicked sense of humor will be remembered by many whose lives she touched on her journey, and she will be greatly missed by her family and close friends
A thank you is extended to the team of medical professionals that treated Jane over the past 2 years.
We wish to extend a special thank you to Don and Jane's friends Susan and John, Jayne and Phil and Diana whose support and assistance made it possible for Don, Bryan, Keith and Brenda to fulfill Jane's wish to be at home.
No service by request.
Donations to the BC Cancer Foundation in Jane's name would be appreciated.
