Courtney Marie Quin, 22 years old, died suddenly on September 5, 2018.

Her years on this earth were far too short but filled with love. Courtney was born on January 4, 1996 to mom Loretta. Like many families, situations change, and Courtney gained a second dad, Kevin Quin, who eventually adopted Courtney as his own. She officially became Courtney Marie Quin on April 28, 2010.

For 5 years Courtney worked at Headquarters Hair Studio alongside her amazing mom Loretta. There she brought brightness, energy and laughter to all around her. Most recently she was working as a Care Aid/Support Worker at VICC (Vancouver Island Community Connections) in Courtenay. She loved the people she got to work with and came home happy every day. Before that you may have had the pleasure of Coco taking your order at Moxies in Campbell River with a smile that would make the sun, moon and stars jealous.

Courtney attended Sandowne Elementary School, Southgate Middle School and Timberline High School (grad 2014), all in Campbell River. She went on to enroll in the Nursing Program at NIC.

At a young age Courtney was an energetic and charismatic dancer with Urban Dance Connection. Attitude and ability were surpassed only by her competitiveness and desire to be the best and brightest dancer on stage. Skiing was by far Courtney's favourite past time and sport. As a child, her parents knew that her need for speed was something that required coaching. At age 9, she became a member of the Alpine Ski team at the Mount Washington Ski Club. This brought adventure, travel, excitement and most of all an extended family of lifelong friends. Courtney attacked every challenge and discipline on the mountain with courage and determination.

Modeling with photographers recently became a love of Courtney's. To say the camera loved her infectious smile and enigmatic eyes would be an understatement. Her inner beauty, strength and love shone through those eyes with every shutter. Her smile not only lit up a room but lifted the spirits of everyone who witnessed it. Alessandra Vitozzi has captured our Courtney's likeness hundreds, maybe thousands of times. We are so grateful to have these wonderful reminders of our stunning Coco.

All that glitters is not gold. She is now resting in peace. Her light will live on inside all who knew her.

Courtney is survived by her loving parents Loretta and Kevin Quin. Her grandparents Francis Hudock, John Quin and Walter Selcho. Aunts and uncles, Lori and Joe, Lara and Kenneth, and Lynn. Cousins Sarah, Averil, Jill, Alex, Matt and family, Burke and his daughter Eve. Step brother and sister Jamie and Jannelle. Her biological father Rick. Her many Irish aunts, uncles cousins and friends also miss her greatly. Her oldest and dearest friends Payton Fahey and Montana Hartle deserve special mention for their lifetime of unwavering love, friendship and support.

"When you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance"
