Corinne Mable Spencer passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on June 15, 2022. Corinne was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, sister, grandma, great grandma, aunt, niece, cousin, friend.
Corinne was born to Orval and Mable Law on June 10, 1942 in St. Rose du Lac, Manitoba and grew up in McCreary, MB. Corinne married Stewart Spencer on October 1, 1960. Corinne and Stewart lived all across Canada, from coast to coast to the far north. They settled in Campbell River, BC, and on retirement, wintered in Arizona.
Corinne was the historian of the family and could easily recall the birthdate of a distant cousin or a new great grandchild. Corinne loved to travel, was an avid reader, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cross-stitch.
Corinne is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Stewart, her three children, Garth (Karen), Faith (Alisdair), and Wendy (Robert), her seven grandchildren, Michelle (Cody), Erin (Dylan), Duane (Chrissy), Duncan (Madeleine), Alicia (Mathieu), Shaun, and Kelsey (Mitchell), and her twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ethel (Howard), her sister-in-law Heather (Mervin - deceased), and Stewart's sister, Linda (Lorne). Corinne is pre-deceased by her brothers, Mervin and Dennis, and parents Orval and Mable.
Corinne will be lovingly remembered for her joyous smile, her quiet wisdom, her gentle love. She is the thread of strength woven through our family; she is the memory of love ever in our hearts.
Sincere gratitude to the staff of the North Island Hospital, Campbell River & District who cared for Corinne with dignity and dedication over the years and in her passing.
