April 3, 1941 - August 31, 2019
Tom Walters, 78, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 31, 2019, after a battle with cancer. He spent his last two months at The Yucalta Lodge Hospice, Campbell River, B.C.
Tom was born on April 3, 1941 to Nathan and Pearl Walters of Vancouver, British Columbia. He grew up with his twin sister, Carol, in Vancouver. Tom became an elementary school teacher and taught in Fort St. John and then in Abbotsford before settling in Campbell River, where he taught for many years.
Tom enjoyed travelling, had an interest in cars, loved to read, and was an active member of his church. Tom is predeceased by his parents and his sister. He is survived by his brother- in-law, Jack Cuthill of Montreal, nephews Bruce Cuthill, Jonathan Cuthill of Toronto, and niece Andrea Cutthill of Fournier Ont. He is also survived by a number of relatives from his mother's side of the family. Their family name is Fuglerud. They are located in the Lethbridge and the Saskatoon areas.
Our thanks goes out to the staff at the Campbell River Hospital and Yucalta Lodge Hospice, as well as Dr. Bedeker for the great care given to Tom. There will be no formal funeral service.
There will be a graveside service on September 10 @ 11:00am at the Campbell River Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
