Clara Edela Capewell passed away very peacefully on November 2, 2017 in Campbell River B.C., at the age of 84.

Clara was born in Terrace B.C. on May 7, 1933 and moved to Prince Rupert in 1953 for secretarial training, where she met her beloved husband, Peter. After their marriage in 1955, they made Smithers their home for 38 years until Peter's passing in 1993.

Clara did secretarial work, but her main love and focus was always on raising her six children. She was a talented seamstress and baker and enjoyed her quiet time in her flower garden.

In 2002, she moved to Campbell River to be closer to family and most recently, had been proudly following the lives of her grandchildren.

Clara's love and sense of humour will be missed by her children David (Lita), Ann, Valerie (Ralph), Jill (Alan), Jacquie (Derek) and Janet (Chris) and her 14 grandchildren.

She is also survived by her loving brother and sister, Clarence and June.

Clara was predeceased by her husband Peter and sisters, Denise and Laverna.

A special thank-you to the warm and friendly staff and residents at Berwick by the Sea, who helped to make Clara's last years most enjoyable.

Clara will be laid to rest next to Peter, in Smithers in the spring.
