Christine Haas – Passed peacefully at home early Saturday morning November 4th surrounded by beloved family.
She has been survived by her three sons in order by age Ryan Haas, Shawn Jung, and Shane Jung. Mother, Lois Haas. Three sisters Carol Knight, Gail Bonner, Theresa Smith and her five grandchildren Braydin Jung-Devliger, Trinity Jung, Chloe Jung, Ryan Haas Jr. and Briella Jung.
Chris born January 20th 1958 spent her early years in Saskatchewan with her three sisters, and parents. Chrissy’s pride is her family, as instilled in her by her mother Lois Haas, and late father Gerald Haas. Her closeness in age with sister Terry Smith gave her an incredible companion and best friend through all of her life.
She, and her family moved to Duncan BC in 1964 and lived on a farm, and made memories riding horses and meeting new friends on the west coast. Moving into adulthood she had her first born son and she named him Ryan Haas. She married Gord Jung 09/27/1982 this union produced two healthy boys Shawn Jung, and then Shane Jung. Her sons are completely devoted to their mother as she has been to them. She had a unique relationship, and friendship with each of her boys and her smile was the brightest when in a room watching her sons be Dads.
She was a grandma determined to spoil both her grandchildren, and extended grandchildren (Tristan, Brianna, Myah, Alex, Zoe, Presley, and Danika Smith/Brown) and took any opportunity to do so with love, presents, and treats!
Chris will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Her kind, welcoming, tolerant, ways made her a instant friend to many. She cherished her true friendships and spoke fondly of good times passed.
She was introduced by her boys to many simply as “Mum” and many called her just that. She had a way of welcoming you that made you feel like family. She loved to create and knitting was a favourite pass time that she was able to share as gifts to everyone she knew.
She is now reunited with her dad Gerald Haas, niece Aimee Smith, great nephew Tristan Smith and many loved, lost friends.
A Celebration of life will be held this Saturday November 18th from 12:00-3:00 in Lake Cowichan at the Curling Lounge 311 S Shore Road.
We welcome all who knew Chris to share photos, music and fond memories. Please join us.
