Christina Eva Thirsk, nee Jansson (1927-2018) was 'promoted to glory' on September 25, 2018 and is now with Jesus, her Saviour and Lord. She was predeceased by Lester in 2002 - her beloved husband of 54 years, her younger brother, Donald Jansson and sisters-in-law Arlene Jansson and Jean Jansson.
She is survived by her son Rich (Sherrill) and their children Jared and Sheridan (Stephanie) and their son Austin; her son Bob (Brenda) and their children Lisane (Christian), Elliot (Yvette) and Aidan; and her daughter Bev. She is also survived by her brother John (Gerry) Jansson and sister Betty Keener, along with many nieces and nephews.
She faithfully served her Lord in various ways through the local church, most notably as the church pianist and a ladies' Bible Study leader. She was also a speaker for the Christian Women's Club ministry for many years. She served as a correspondent for the Canadian Cancer Society and as a secretary for the Calgary Board of Education. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and remembered for her consistent health response "Every day is a good day"!
A Celebration of Eva's Life will be held at Mill Bay Baptist Fellowship at Butterfield Rd & Hwy 1 on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Eva to the Mill Bay Baptist Fellowship - Building Fund c/o 2312 San Juan Place, Shawnigan Lake, BC V0R 2W1 or to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca).
