Born 6 February 1933 in Indonesia. Not long after, Singapore fell to the Japanese. Sumatra was invaded. Chris, his parents, and sister were held prisoner. After three and a half years as a child prisoner, his camp was liberated.
Chris died 6 August 2020. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Gert, and children Duncan (Wendy), Roy (Leslie), and Moira (Douglas), and grandchildren, as well as his sister Robin in the USA.
As a member of the RCAF, the family were posted to various stations across Canada and the Arctic, ending up in Comox. They bought 30 acres on Knight Road, cleared 25 acres of it and developed a small farm. Chris was sure proud of his John Deere tractors.
