In Loving Memory ~
Charles (Chuck) Raymond Adcock was born on December 11, 1940 and passed away peacefully on March 21, 2023 at the Wetaskiwin Hospital and Care Centre.
Chuck was raised on a farm west of Ponoka. While growing up, he worked on neighbouring farms, and after he left home, he worked a short time in the oilfield.
He worked 7 years with Crawford Transport, and then 39 years working highway maintenance with Alberta Transportation before retiring in 2006.
After retirement, he kept busy helping family members with harvest and other farming activities.
In 1962, he married Carol Huseby and together they raised four children. Chuck's favourite activities included camping, fishing, canoeing and playing bingo with his wife. Many of their travels included cruises, bus tours, trips across Canada and to Alaska.
He had a love of old vehicles and machinery, and he and Carol traveled to Irricana annually to attend Pioneer Days. They also had annual passes to the Reynolds Museum. Chuck cherished his family and loved spending time with his 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren (not to mention the time he spent with his numerous furry grandchildren!).
Friends and family have many fond memories of his sense of humour and gentle demeanour. He always made time to help anyone with anything.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol; his four children, Melaney (Blaine Ravnsborg), Holly (Kevin Riske), Brian (Colleen), and Deanne (Wade Nicholson); his eleven grandchildren, Danielle (Craig), Tyler, Justin (Cara), Janelle (Steve), Stephanie (Justin), Matthias, Matthew (Kaelan), Damien, Craig (Samantha), Ryan (Justine), and Dylan; his thirteen great-grandchildren, Kaelyn, Paisley, Jack, Jace, Caleb, Kacie, Zach, Carter, Brody, Jasper, Addison, Dominic and Skylah.
He is also survived by his three brothers, four sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister and one brother.
Chuck's family would like to thank Sagebrush in Wetaskiwin for the loving care he received from all of the staff during his 3 1/2 year stay.
Also, thanks to Dr. Berry, Dr. Van der Walt and Dr. Lee for their care over the last few years.
Also to Chaplain Peter, and all of the staff at the Wetaskiwin Hospital and Care Centre during his final eleven days.
He will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Ponoka Legion (3911, AB-2A, Ponoka).
