Charles Eugene "Chuck" Rodway

Charles "Chuck" was born July 7th, 1932 and passed July 17th, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents (Kathleen and Charles), his brother Terry, and his first wife Rosalie.

Chuck is survived by his wife Marilyn, his children Lori, Terry (Melanie), Kathy (George), Lynda (Casey), his eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also remembered by his sister-in-law Dorothy Rodway, his four nephews Scott, Craig, Brad and Keith. Marilyn's family Cheryl, Herb, Ken, Richard.

Chuck was born in Vancouver and lived in Nanaimo, Sechelt and Campbell River. He played hockey, lacrosse and baseball in his youth. Chuck worked in several industries including operating a logging company with his brother in Sechelt in the 1960s. Then after Chuck and his family moved to Campbell River in the 1970s, he owned and operated a bulk oil outlet and as well a small ice-making business with his partner and good friend Herbie. His last career change was as co-owner of Campbell River Waste with his son Terry and after they sold the company he remained as the Operations Manager until his retirement.

Chuck was also an avid fan of professional sports teams and enjoyed rooting for them on TV (Canucks, Lions, Dodgers, Red Sox).

During retirement he found joy in spending time with his grandchildren, stamp collecting, getting his lottery tickets and going for coffee and a drive with his family and friends. He will be missed dearly.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 29th from 1 pm till 3 pm at 800 Marguerite Rd. Campbell River for friends and family. In Lieu of flowers a donation to the charity of your choice is appreciated.
