In loving memory ~
Cathy McKenzie passed away in Port Alberni, B.C. on Thursday, December 1st, 2022 at the age of 94.
Predeceased by husband 'Spike'; son Greg and sister Beth. Cathy is survived by children Dallas (Linda) and Aaron (Jazz); grandchildren Jordan (Kelli) and A.J. (Mayhanna) and Wil; great-grandchildren Jackson and Gavin; brother Howard (Dianne) as well as many nieces and nephews. And her close circle of beloved friends.
Born on the prairies, Cathy was raised in BC, she met her husband in Williams Lake. Cathy and Spike arrived in the Valley in the mid 1950's, to be closer to family. She was a homemaker first and foremost, keeping busy raising three boys and caring for her niece Susan. Cathy believed in giving back to her community and was really involved with the Special Olympics and Citizen Advocacy Society.
In her later years, she enjoyed; puzzles, knitting, reading, and socializing with her group of friends. Always willing to lend a hand if someone needed anything was a sign of her giving and caring nature. Her sense of humour and love of laughter was apparent even into her later years, as was her love for animals.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cathy's memory to the BC SPCA - Alberni Clayoquot, 4936 Broughton Ave, Port Alberni, B.C., V9Y 8R6
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
