It is with great shock and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Catherine (60) in Campbell River on Nov. 21, 2017.
She was born Nov. 2, 1957 the only daughter of Leonard and Isabel Frejd in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Cathy raised a son James ( Mymryk) and a daughter Lois (Tyerman) in Tahsis and Campbell River. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her husband Tom, daughter Lois, son James and grandchildren Everlee, Audrey, and Josh (Sweeney) with all her heart.
Cathy had many passions including a love of music, horses, bird feeding, and showing her dogs. She adored her two poodles Mary J and Beenie and has been reunited with those dogs and horses who passed before.
She was a member of the Campbell River dog fanciers and served in the community by volunteering at the Gateway Foursquare church and with the Grassroots Kindhearts Society.
Cathy was a pet care professional and dog groomer in Campbell River for many years and will be sorely missed by her clients.
Survivors include husband Thomas Hopkins, son James Mymryk and his daughter Audrey, daughter Lois Tyerman, son in law Kevin Rowsell and their daughter Everlee as well as our special friend and grandchild Josh Sweeny.
The many members of Catherine's extended family were cherished by her as well and were always in her thoughts.
The joy has gone out of our lives and the road ahead will be difficult but we are comforted to know Cathy is at peace with God.
A celebration of life will be held at the Gateway Foursquare Church 403 5th Ave., Campbell River on Sat. Dec. 2, 2017 at 2 pm.
