In Loving Memory ~
On the beautiful sunny afternoon of March 17, 2023, Carolyn gracefully and peacefully passed away at Vancouver General Hospital after battling leukemia.
An entrepreneurial powerhouse, Carolyn was never afraid to take on new challenges or opportunities. She opened and operated successfully both the Nanaimo Bar and Cookie Company and The Olde Nanaimo Brewery Company Ltd. She was an incredible saleswoman and was always on the hunt for a good product to promote.
Carolyn was never afraid of tackling any job. She taught herself many skills from carpentry and tiling to minor electrical and plumbing jobs. She was also a talented seamstress and loved to garden.
She had a keen eye for design and colour and spent countless hours scouring thrift shops and antique stores to add to her fabulous Depression glass, Pyrex, and travel alarm clock collections.
Carolyn will be greatly missed by her son Michael (Tina), daughter Katie, and her grandchildren Sheridan, Hudson, and Ava. Mourning her loss, as well, are her parents Wilfred and Christina Mousseau, her sisters Tina Breese and Heather Wong (Ron), and her brother Warren Mousseau.
Carolyn also leaves behind her dear friend Dave Wendland and her beloved dog Bella, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
We will miss her energy, passion, and immense joy for life.
