Carol May Gray passed away peacefully at home as was her wish on February 16th, 2018 after a courageous 13 month battle with ovarian cancer at the age of 73.

Carol is survived by her husband of 54 years, Melvyn Gray; son, Darrell (Samantha); daughter, Lori (Steve); Holly, the family dog.

Just like her own mother, Carol was known as "Nana" to her grandson Jeremy, granddaughter, Jayden, and step-grandson, Chase, who will miss her very much.

She is also survived by her younger brother, Robert Daniels and wife Shari of Quesnel, BC; and sister in law Lois Gray of Hope, BC.

Carol was predeceased by her parents, Dorthy and Dick Daniels.

Carol and Mel met and married in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver. They moved to the Island and built their current home in 1974. Together, they spent many a day exploring our beautiful coastal waters from Pudget Sound to Rivers Inlet and all the nooks and crannies in between. They were also both avid members in the Coast Guard Auxillary (with the MV Dads Toy II and the MV Karomel).

Carol went back to school in her later years to receive her LPN license. EShe then worked at Trillium Lodge for the next 20 years. Retirement led to dry land adventures with their van and trailer, travelling through the coastal states.

Special thanks to Brenda Quade and Joyce & Keith Hoelscher for their extra help in the last few weeks of mom's illness; to Dr Biglow and his team for the care he provided Carol over the years; and to Oceanside Hospice and their home support services.

In keeping with Carol's wishes, there will be no service at this time.

"Always in our hearts and forever missed."
