September 17, 1930 - June 19, 2021
Born in Arlington, Massachusetts September 17, 1930
It is with heavy hearts the we announce the passing of Bud Mountan of Bowser, B.C. on June 19, 2021 at North Island Hospital in Courtenay, B.C.
Bud was raised in Lorneville, N.S. As a young man he set off working throughout Canada which eventually led him to the West Coast where he settled in Victoria, B.C. and raised his family.
Bud was a master of his trade working for the B.C. Government specializing in ornamental plasterwork and heritage restoration. Some of his best work as a plasterer can be seen in the Royal BC Museum as well as the Parliament Buildings.
Bud was happiest when doing the things he loved, camping, fishing and hunting with family and friends. His love of the ocean brought him to Bowser B.C. where he built his retirement home. Bud was known for his great sense of humour and easy going personality which brought him many life long friends.
Bud was a dedicated life member of the RCL211 where he could be found either volunteering his time or being the "first" in line for the sale of the "Meat Draw" tickets!
Bud was survived by his beloved wife Marion and his children, Mike (Kathy), Dave (Andrea), Maureen (Jord), Joanne (Joe). Bud was a fun loving Grampie to seven Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren.
There will be no service by request.
