December 7, 2020
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Dad, Bud, on December 7, 2020 at 99 years of age.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Sada, his parents, Tomigi and Rose, and his sister, Chic. He leaves behind his daughter Joanne (John), his sons Allen (Carol) and Terry (Lauren); his grandchildren Randy, Aaron (Michelle), Carey (Rachelle), Bridget (Ian), Trevor (Tanis), Ryan (Jenn), Chris (Chrystal), and Steph (George). There are also 14 great grandchildren.
Bud was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. He spent most of his working life on Vancouver Island as a logger, first-aid attendant and carpenter. Retiring at age 70, he enjoyed his passion for salmon fishing by spending the summer months at Port Renfrew in his motorhome beside a marina. He always welcomed his family and friends to join him with his sister Chic.
With his keen sense of humour, his kindness, and his positive attitude towards life, he was well-loved by his family and friends. He will be missed so much. There are favorite jokes that will never be forgotten.
We would like to thank all the staff at Sherwood House in Duncan for the love and care they provided to make him feel welcome, loved and valued. Also, special thanks to the nurses at the Health Clinic with whom he enjoyed visiting daily, and to the Cowichan Hospital Palliative Care Unit who treated him with such kindness and respectful care.
Bud's ashes will be laid to rest beside his wife at Cedar Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held next year due to Covid 19.
