It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Bruce Frederick Webster, loving husband and father, who passed away surrounded by family on Monday, December 4th, 2017, aged 92.

Bruce was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 11, 1925. He attended the University of Manitoba and received his Professional Engineering Degree in 1947.

While at the University, Bruce met Fay Kalmakoff, a Home Economics student whom he later married in 1950. Bruce and Fay had a daughter, Lynn, before Fay sadly passed away in 1951.

Bruce took a position with the Northern Electric Company in Winnipeg as an electrical engineer where he met and later married  Joyce Airth in 1955. They had three children, Jeff, Lesley, and Scott. Subsequent positions saw Bruce and his family travel to Montreal, Saskatchewan, and England before returning to Winnipeg.

In 1967, he moved with his family to Vancouver where he first worked with Mackenzie, Snowball, and Skalbania, and subsequently formed a partnership of his own, MSS Consulting. His work included major projects throughout B.C., including a refurbishing of the electrical generation systems at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria.

Bruce was an avid duck hunter in his earlier days, and he and Joyce travelled extensively together. He also greatly enjoyed fishing, golfing, and entertaining family and friends with his unique wit.

He is survived by his wife Joyce of 62 years, four children and their spouses: Lynn (Michael), Jeff (Shirley), Lesley (Francis) and Scott (Deborah), and nine grandchildren.

The family would like to sincerely thank the dedicated home caregivers, as well as the doctors and staff at the Nanaimo General Hospital for their compassionate care during Bruce's final stay with them.
