After a lengthy illlness Brian died on June 30, 2017. He is survived by his wife Amy, Sister Betty, sons Don (Noralie), Ron (Eileen), and Larry (Doreen), grandchildren Tasha, Nicole, Brent, Katie, Dallas, Mack and Grace as well as great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Brian was born in Wetaskiwin, AB and raised in Victoria, BC. As a child he joined Cub Scouts, Sea Cadets and played many sports including lacrosse and football. He completed his apprenticeship in Sheet Metal at the Esquimalt Dockyard. On June 11, 1960 he married Amy Skeates in Victoria. Brian decided to expand his work experience and moved to the Sacramento, California area. He was deeply committed to his family and supported his sons many endeavours as they grew. After returning to Vancouver Island in 1993 he teasured his grandchildren and supported their many activities. In later life Brian experienced multiple health issues; his persistence to live on and overcome all the medical predictions was amazing. He was blessed to have such wonderful family and friends. A Celebration of Life was held on July 3, 2017. Donations may be made in Brian’s memory to the Cowichan Valley Hospice Society or a charity on your choice.
