In loving memory ~
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Bill (Bela) Toth on December 15th in his 85th year. Bill was predeceased by the love of his life Kay Marion (Turner) Toth and his parents Andrew & Margaret (Widilla)Toth. Bill is survived by his beloved daughter Kim, loved son-in-law Bob (Greig) his nephew Ed Berlando and sister Ann (Flip) Webster. He will be affectionately remembered by friends and extended family.
Bill was born in Lethbridge AB and spent his school years in Nacmine (Drumheller) AB. He had a very successful career and retired as the Manager of the Balzac Gas Plant north of Calgary. To him, though, his greatest success was meeting his soulmate, Kay. Bill came into Kay and Kim's lives in 1978 and it was very clear. Soon after that he was to be part of the family. Kim changed Bill's name to 'Dad' in 1982. His love for Kay and Kim was undeniable. Bill and Kay fully embraced life travelling much of the world, many times with Bob and Kim. Bill and Kay stayed active by biking, hiking and going to aqua aerobics. They loved to dance and it was magical to watch them smiling at each other as they moved across the floor as, undoubtedly, they are again. Theirs was truly a love affair to remember. After Mum's passing, Kim was there to assist her Dad wherever possible. She spent many hours holding vigil every day as he began his long journey to be with his sweetheart. Kim felt honoured to be there for him as he had always been there for her through good and bad times. As the song goes 'he was the Dad he didn't have to be' and for that she will always be grateful.
The family wishes to offer their sincere gratitude to the staff and friends at the Qualicum Manor for Bill's outstanding care and for their extraordinary support for Kim. As they told Kim many times Bill had an intense smile that would light up any room and a laugh that was contagious.
A gathering to celebrate Dad's life will be scheduled after the holidays. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Oceanside Hospice Society (210 Crescent Rd W, QB V9K 1J9) would be greatly appreciated.
