July 4, 2021
Beverly passed away peacefully, with family at her side, at Yucalta Lodge Campbell River BC, July 4, 2021.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Beverly married and moved to Campbell River where she began to raise a family of 8 children.
Beverly made her home in Victoria where she lived for over 45 years. She embraced Christianity and became a strong and inspirational activist and advocate for justice, peace, and human rights.
She became an active volunteer with the Christian L'arche Community in Victoria, and through the 80's and 90's she was a volunteer and board member for the Central American Support Committee in Victoria, where she organized and coordinated Cafe Simpatico, bringing awareness to human rights violations in Central America. She also volunteered with the Christian group "Crossfire, Partners In Hope" ministering to "street people" in the downtown Vancouver area.
Her volunteer work took her to Nicaragua, and to India where she met Mother Teresa and became endeared to many who considered her family. Whatever cause she was active in she gave her heart to and was loved by those she supported.
Survived by 6 of her children, 11 grandchildren, 18 great grand children and 2 great great grandchildren, Mom was predeceased by her her oldest and youngest sons, Bruce and Gavin. Her ashes will be interred beside them in the Campbell River Cemetery.
Mom/Gramma will be greatly missed, though she will continue to live on in our hearts.
