In Loving Memory ~
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Beverley Margaret Potter, who died peacefully on March 23, 2025, in Parksville, British Columbia, at the age of 89.
Beverley was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta, and spent her early years in Spirit River, where she developed a lifelong connection to family, friends, and the Peace Country. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 1956 and began a dedicated career in nursing. In 1972, she relocated to Nanaimo and continued her work at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital until her retirement in 1992.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Deb Warren (Igor Fleming), Cathy Warren, and Rob Warren (Jill); her grandchildren: Joseph (Ayla) and Cameron; and her great-grandchildren: Ayden and Haley. She also leaves behind sister-in-law Charlotte Deslaurier (Ernie), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Beverley was predeceased by her parents, George Esdale Potter and Beatrice Irene Potter; her stepmother Charlotte Potter; and her siblings: Brian Potter, Bernice "Bunny" Ofstedahl (Norm), and Rod Potter (Charlotte).
In retirement, Beverley remained active in her church community, serving as treasurer for many years. She found joy in reading and solving jigsaw puzzles—pastimes that brought her peace and fulfillment. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents of Nanaimo Senior's Village for their companionship over the years, as well as to the teams at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and Trillium Lodge in Parksville for their compassionate care.
Beverley will be laid to rest in her family's plot at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Edmonton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation in her memory.
