February 18, 1943 - June 13, 2020
It is with aching hearts and loving memories that we announce the passing of our warm and wonderful 'Mama' on June 13, 2020.
Predeceased by her parents, Anna & Joseph, siblings, Nadine, Jim, Waverly, and Carl, and her husband, Ken, Bev is survived by her adoring family, daughter Danette (Mikael), son Mike, grandson Kellan, sister in laws, Dorothy & Lynda, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends who truly "loved her like a sister".
Born in Pine Falls, Manitoba, on February 18, 1943, Mom later moved to Kamloops where she started her long standing career with the CIBC.
Transferring to Vancouver, she met, fell in love, and married Ken. Together, they moved between Kamloops and Ladysmith - finally settling here permanently in 1986.
Bev retired from her successful career with CIBC in 2007, but her favourite job, at which she truly excelled, was "Mom", and later, beloved "Nini" to Kellan.
A tireless volunteer, Bev enjoyed her work with the Hospital Auxiliary and the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. When she wasn't working in the community, she thrived on a full social life that included endless board and card games.
Together with Dad, Mom hosted countless dinner parties, open houses on Boxing Day, and their legendary Ukrainian Christmas celebrations. She enjoyed her travels over the years, taking many tropical vacations, as she loved to sit and enjoy the sun.
Simply put, Mom brought kindness, love, and laughter into every life she touched. She will be remembered for the smile she had, the warmth she gave, and her penchant for always making you feel welcome in her home no matter who you were. Bev will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and anyone who was lucky enough to know her. We are deeply saddened, but also happy that she is now with Dad, whom she missed so very much.
Love you always, Mom.
Danette, Mike and family.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
