August 11, 1931 - June 10, 2019
Bentley "Bud" Booth passed away on June 10, 2019 at the age of 87, due to congestive heart failure. Bud was born August 11, 1931 in Nanaimo, BC, to Millie and Lance Booth. As a child, Bud spent a great deal of time on Lake Cowichan in Youbou, enjoying the water with his brother Tommy. At the age of 17, Bud enlisted with the Canadian Navy; proudly serving his country for 5 years, including active duty in the Korean War. Bud moved to Port Alberni
in 1954 where he and his wife of nearly 60 years, Fran, raised their family. Bud retired in 1991 after 37 years working at the Plywoods. In retirement, Bud did the things he enjoyed; spending time with his family, maintaining his garden, woodworking, and watching a John Wayne movie or two.
Bud is survived by his loving wife Fran; his four children, Allan (Dawn), Kris (Mike), Gary (Irene) and Tricia (Erick); his nine grandchildren Sarah (Mitch), Cody, Travis, Michael, Taylor, Halie, Cameron, Brayden and Zach; and his great-grandson, Parker. Bud is also survived by his half brother Larry, brother-in-law John (Jean), and nephews Trevor and Tyler (Alisha, Payton and Koen).
He was predeceased by his parents Millie and Lance; step dad, Lew; brother Tommy, and special sister-in-law Pam.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and volunteers of Ty Watson House.
A celebration of life for Bud will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Ty Watson House.
