It is with heavy hearts to announce the passing of our Mom Beatrice Schaffer. Bea is predeceased by her husband Walter of 59 years and her grandson Andrew Crawford Barbour. Bea is survived by her sister Myrt Bishop of Victoria. Bea had 5 children: Sheryl (Bruce), Margo (Wes), Wendy (Brad), Gregg (Cathy) and Terry (Diane). Nine grandchildren: Patrice, Danielle, Kelly, David, Andrew, Kyle, Stevie, Nicole and Jamie. 10 great grandchildren grandchildren Aidan, Hannah, Grace, Lily, Skylar, Teagan, Fanelson, Cohen, Blaine and Cayson.
Bea was born in Penzance, SK and moved to Nanaimo in 1963. She loved her career as a teacher from 1963 - 1986. After retiring Walt & Bea spent many summers in Saskatchewan and travelling in their motorhome spending winters in Desert Hot Spring Ca and Scottsdale, AZ. Bea's favourite passtime was playing bridge, majong and especially canasta with the family.
We would like to thank so much Dorothy Lee, Caroline, Ellie, Aday, Lily and All Bea's special friends at Amicus Place in Abbotsford. Special thanks to all the staff at Community Care and to the staff at Palliative Care - you are truly very special people.

It is Bea's wishes to be cremated. There will be no service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
