June 18, 2022
It is with heaviest of hearts we announce the passing of one of the good guys; Barry Davies June 18, 2022, with his family at his side.
Barry was born in East York Ontario where he spent his younger years. In 1961, he married the love of his life and soulmate, Carolyn. For more than 60 years they remained side by side. In 1968, Barry and Carolyn packed a 1964 chevy with their two young children, a few processions and headed west to B.C. with big dreams of a brighter future for their family. Barry found employment with Westins Bakery as a driver/salesman, a career he loved. After 7 years in the lower mainland, a company transfer brought Barry and family to Campbell River, a community that became home.
Barry was a hard worker, he enjoyed a good book and was a fantastic armchair athlete. Barry had a great sense of humour and would laugh uncontrollably, even if the joke was on him. He loved deeply and his family was his world . He always saw the bright side of life even when his health took a turn. Everyone who ever knew Barry said the same thing; He's the kindest and most gentle man you will ever meet.
Barry is predeceased by his parents, Reg and Dorothy Davies and his much adored grandson Matthew Wocks.
He is survived by his soulmate Carolyn, daughter Robin Wocks (Les) and son Ron. His grandchildren; Nolan, Chad, Vanessa, Nicholas and Alexander. Brothers; Bob (Diane) and Bruce (Rebecca) and many extended family.
The Family would like to thank Doctors Prinsloo and Clark. Nurses; Shannon, Kristy and Julia. Also the home care team, and especially Mel.
There will be a private gathering with immediate family as per Barrys request. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your charity of choice.
