In Loving Memory ~
With very, very heavy hearts we announce the passing of Barbara Lynn Hnatiuk ( Gossard ) October 1 1958- December 27 2021.
Barb was predeceased by her father Jerry Gossard, July 2009 and brother Clint Gossard January 2019.
Barb is survived by her loving husband Daryl, son Brett, daughter in law Heather, son Tyler, daughter in law Katrina and grandsons Max and Jake.
She also leaves behind mother Pat, sister Judy, brother Brian along with many nieces, nephews, brother in laws and sister in laws who so adored Barbie.
Barb was a prairie girl growing up in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. After graduating from high school Barb moved to Saskatoon to start a long career in the banking industry, retiring in 2018 from Coastal Community Credit Union.
Barb then met her husband Daryl of 38 years in 1984, they both decided soon after to make the move to the West Coast settling in Whistler, BC. After four years in Whistler, careers took them to Victoria, Courtenay, Nanaimo and finally settling in their dream home on Sproat Lake, BC in September 2020.
Barb's zest for life was infectious as was her big beautiful laugh, everyone knew when Barb entered the room. Barb loved people of all walks of life, she loved hard, played hard and always cherished time well spent with numerous family and friends. She loved to travel, dance and sing and put a smile on everyone's face.
Our family will never be the same with our Barbie gone, but we all know she is watching, loving and guiding us from above.
Our heartfelt thanks to the palliative ward at NRGH especially to Dr. Love, Dr.Mcllwaine and all of the amazing nurses who are true angels.
A celebration of life will be held on July 23rd at Bowen Park Auditorium in Nanaimo, BC, more details to follow.
