Passed away peacefully in Victoria, BC. Daughter of Hedley and Doris Everard, and step-daughter of Jean Everard. Loving sister to Jim (Jann) and aunt to Gareth and Taylor.

Jane was born, and grew up, in Montreal and spent her summers with extended family on Lake Bernard in Sundridge, ON. Her love for creatures, whether they had hooves, paws, claws or wings, was large, and Jane could often be found at the stables or in the barn with her beloved horses.

After completing art and design training at community college, Jane began to explore and create pottery. She worked mostly in the North Bay and Picton areas, making life-long artistic friends. Jane loved to experiment with new techniques and had an eye for whimsy. She was drawn to abstract art and complex texturing, and was curious about the lives of artists. While operating a studio in Picton, Jane also tackled the challenges of flying and obtained her private pilot's license, continuing a family tradition in the cockpit.

For much of her life, Jane lived with anorexia nervosa. Despite her inner struggles, she worked hard to maintain her relationships with family and friends and was unfailingly gentle and sweet-natured. She practiced living with gratitude and focused on making others feel special. Oh, how she succeeded!

Following cremation, Jane will be interred beside her mother in Berriedale Cemetery, Strong Township, ON. If desired, please consider donations to the Toronto General Hospital in support of its Eating Disorder Program or to the Vancouver Island School of Art.

The family thanks the compassionate staff who cared for Jane at Victoria's Royal Jubilee Hospital.
