In Loving Memory ~
Audrey lived 95 years filled with family and friends, laughter and tears, happy times and sad times. Audrey was born on August 17, 1927, in Roblin Manitoba to Walter and Amelia Payne. She lived on a farm in cold and snowy northern Manitoba in her early years and moved with her family to the city of Winnipeg in her early teens. Audrey met and corresponded with her soon to be husband Fred during World War II. She moved to the Ladysmith area to marry Fred in 1946.
She is predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Fred, and her daughter Kathy Einarsen. She is survived by her 3 daughters Linda (Tim), Donna and Susan, grandchildren Tammy (Donald), Brent (Brenda), Leanne (Steve), Kevin (Vanessa), Gary (Chanielle), Cindy (Dave), Lisa and Tina (Steev) her 17 great grandchildren Brianna, Taylor, Cassidy, Carlee, Drayden, Keaton, Bella, Rivaya, Jackson, Kathina, Ben, Kamila, Dave, Daryll, Weston, Daycin and Gianna, her 2 great great grandchildren Julian and Kai, her 2 sisters June (John) and Marge (Art) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Audrey married Freddy on November 1st, 1946, and together they raised their four daughters in Ladysmith. They enjoyed their summers fishing and camping at the Gap in the Gulf Islands.
Audrey loved her bowling league in her earlier years and enjoyed her quilting group in her later years. Audrey's pride and joy were her 17 grandchildren and she loved watching them start and enjoy their families. She spent her time and final days at her farm in Yellow Point and enjoyed watching the wildlife from her deck and watching her favourite team, the Toronto Blue Jays. She felt so fortunate to be able to live out her final days comfortably in her cozy home.
The family would like to express deep gratitude for the loving care she received from Dr. Steeves and the palliative nurses from the Community Palliative team. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
There will be a small family service by her request.
