She will also be missed by her family in Alberta, brothers Morley (Verna) and Carl (Cecile) and sister Evelyn and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Audrey was predeceased by husband Rob, sister Edith, and brother Floyd.
Audrey was born November 5, 1937 in Coronation, Alberta. She met and married Rob, who was in the military, stationed in Red Deer, AB. They made their way west and finally settled in Tsawwassen and later North Delta to raise their two children. Audrey was a homemaker, but also worked a number of years at the TD Bank as a teller. After retirement, they followed their children to Vancouver Island.
Audrey loved to travel, and she and Rob enjoyed many years boating on the west coast. They also explored Australia, Mexico, and the US, anywhere it was warm. Eventually they bought a place in Mesa AZ, to spend winters there, entertaining many friends old and new and playing golf.
When she wasn’t travelling, she also loved gardening, walking her many grand-dogs and was a proud member of the Blazing Paddles Dragon Boat team. Audrey was an amazing hostess and loved to entertain family and friends. Her cocktail parties were legendary. After Rob passed, Audrey still enjoyed time in Mesa, as well as a memorable trip to Thailand.
A kind, caring lady, Audrey lived till the end, with dignity and grace. She will forever be in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Audrey’s name may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
