Audrey Ballantyne (Petschauer) passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Eden Gardens, Nanaimo at age 87. Audrey had resided at Eden Gardens for the last eight years as she battled Alzheimer's. Audrey is predeceased by her daughter Shelley, her parents Albert and Esther Petschauer and her two brothers Raymond and Warren. She is survived by her husband Doug, her son Jack, daughter in law Teresa, her grandchildren Jeff (Jessica), Adam (Julia), Natasha (Andrew), and great grandson Bodin.
Audrey was third generation Nanaimo born and lived most of her life in the Pleasant Valley area. Audrey was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; having been a major role in all three of her grandchildren's lives. She dedicated many volunteer hours to the local arts and culture of Nanaimo and passed that love of theatre onto her granddaughter.
Audrey's family would like to thank the staff at Travellers Lodge/Eden Gardens for the years of exceptional service and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Eden Gardens Nanaimo.
We will be holding a Celebration of Life at Pleasant Valley Hall on Sunday, March 22, 2020 from 1 pm - 4 pm.
