There once was a man from Roberts Creek
He was kind and so friendly and so full of cheek
He loved to write poems and stories and song
With everyone he'd meet
he would surely get along
He married a girl and they started a herd
First came Kathleen then Michael
and Eileen was third
Off they ventured to Europe then back to B.C.
Where the family rooted and continued the tree
There came Jennifer, Jacquelin & Bradly came too
Then Jolene and Christina later Leland & Andrew
They all put a sparkle in Art & Joan's eye
And in Black Creek we'd visit and
eat home made pie
Well there was a slight pause
but it didn't take long
For the grands to have greats
and continue the song
Jeremy, Emily, Carter, Isla and Colby.
Gavin and Caleigh finally Evrett then Rylee
There were weddings and birthdays
and dreams we were chasin'
Lynn, Ricky and Brandon, Rod, Miles,
Amy and Jason
They all added love and joined in open hearted.
G.G. and Great Pops would admire
what they started
So we've turned a few pages but
we're richer for that
Now Art's sending us rainbows and
birdsongs and bats
We'll remember him often, his humour, his wit
And recall how his life
"was one hell of a skit"
