It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arlene Loris Hornett (nee Parsons). Arlene was born September 11, 1935 in Natal, BC and passed away October 18, 2024 in Duncan, BC.
Arlene was predeceased by the first love of her life Howard Smith; her loving husband of 39 years, Robert Hornett; sister Audrey, step son Gerry, grandson Richard and great grandson Garrett. She is survived by her sisters Laurine and Lorna; her daughter Dawn Van den Berg (Pieter), sons: Glen (Carol) Smith and Cory Smith, step daughter Brenda (Howard) Garrett, step daughter-in-law Elly, step sons: Robert (Sherry) and Dale (Kim). She will also be lovingly remembered by her 19 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.
Arlene's hobbies included playing piano, cooking, knitting, traveling and golfing. She enjoyed sharing these hobbies with her husband Robert, as well as her many friends and family.
Our family would like to thank Sunridge Place staff for lovingly taking care of Arlene over the last few years.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at the Duncan United Church Hall, 246 Ingram Street, Duncan, BC. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Parkinson's Canada.
