July 11, 1987 - August 10, 2021
With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dear son and brother, Anthony John Reems. Anthony was greatly loved by his parents, Henk and Mieke, his sisters Sonja (Matt) and Kirsten (Chris), and his brothers Jordan (Meredith) and Brian (Marion). His nieces Mieka, Natalia, Linnaia, Alida, Adrie, Bea, Cleo, Ophelia and Grace as well as nephews Willem, Micah, and Oliver also loved and adored their Uncle Tony.
He will be remembered for his gifts of music, his laughter, his love of volleyball and gardening; as well as his definite stance on veganism, his caring attitude and his generosity towards others.
Born in St. Albert, Alberta, Anthony moved to Nanaimo with his family at the age of one in 1988. He attended Nanaimo Christian School, Woodlands High School and Vancouver Island University. The last fifteen years were very difficult for Anthony as he struggled with schizophrenia.
Anthony will be greatly missed. He is released from his pain but lives on in our hearts.
