In loving memory ~

Anne Theresa Roach (nee Campbell) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning, November 10th, 2024 at her home in Campbell River, BC after taking ill with a stroke, two weeks prior.

Anne (Annie) was born on Saturday, February 26th, 1938 at home in Crislaghmore, Fahan Parish, Barony Inishowen, County Donegal, Ireland to John and Mary (nee Coyle) Campbell.

Anne left school at the end of Grade 6 and entered full time employment, eventually going to England with her Aunty Tess, where she met the love of her life, Brian Roach. After a whirlwind courtship of 7 months, they married on January 11th, 1964 in Lancaster, settling in Widnes. Julie was born in July of 1967, and the family of 3 emigrated to Canada in 1968. John was born March 1969 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. From there they moved westward to British Columbia living in a series of communities, following job opportunities. Two of the longest stays were in Port Renfrew from 1972-1979 and Fort St. John, from 1979 to 1990 before returning to Vancouver Island, calling Campbell River home ever since.

Anne leaves behind her loving husband of 60 years, Brian Roach, daughter Julie Roach (Mike Burns) and their children Brandon Odermatt (Nikole), Kailey Odermatt (C.J.), Ford Nixon Vander Linden, Jenna Burns, son John Roach (Deanna) and their children, Cassidy Crneck (Donald) and Derek Roach (Sierra), great grandchildren, Peter Crneck, Olivia Crneck, Kylie Barker, Nash Barker, Connor Dann, Kiya Dann, and sister Mary Putt, as well as many honorary family members and friends.

Predeceased by her father, John Campbell in 1944, mother Mary Campbell in 1973 and 6 of her siblings, 4 in their infancy/toddler years; Daniel Campbell (1932-1932), John Campbell (1934-1934), Kathleen Campbell (1935-1936) and Jane Campbell (1936-1937) followed by Mickie Campbell in 2011, Bridget Doherty in 2023 and many dear friends, cousins and relations over the years.

We have found a beautiful venue with so many Granny Memories, but due to availability, we can only have it on Monday, December 2nd for Anne's Celebration of Life afternoon tea, taking place at 2:30 pm at the Maritime Heritage Centre, 621 Island Highway, Campbell River. We would love to see you all! The family will be gathered with stories of their own and hoping to hear yours (or read what you may choose to write down) in an afternoon of food and refreshments (because mum always liked hosting) fellowship and remembrance, remembering the life and times of Annie Roach. We will bring photos and memorabilia and invite you to do the same if you wish. We look forward to visiting with you and giving Anne a lovely send-off.

Mum's traditional Catholic funeral will take place the following day, Tuesday December 3rd at 1:30 pm, St. Patrick's Church, 34 Alder Street South in Campbell River, and is open to all who wish to attend.

Unusual plans? Perhaps. But for our hearts and momma's wishes we think it's the perfect solution. Looking forward to seeing everyone who loved Anne as much as we do and hearing your stories.

Donations of sympathy may be made to a charity of your choice.
