October 4, 1934 - July 26, 2021
Our family humbly announces the passing of Andy, our beloved Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. His last weeks were filled with wonderful story-telling visits with family.
It is impossible to capture a life in a few lines and Andy's was a unique and tender story. He was born in Poland and then relocated to a boarding school in France during the war, at age six. As a young man he spent time in England before immigrating to Canada with his parents. He met the girl of his dreams in Powell River and studied mechanical engineering through UBC.
Andy loved his work in the Pulp mills, taking him from Crofton to Mackenzie then Richmond and back to the Island where he retired in Saltair. In the early years he found joy in survey work, hiking in the mountains and on the tennis court. Andy loved his family. He was an avid golfer, proud Rotarian and in later years joined Probus where he discovered new interests and friends.
Andy was predeceased far too early by his wife Sheila and son Ross. He was survived by his children: Dirk Jezierski, Denise Turner and Sharon Thompson and ever proud of his tribe of grandchildren: Kevin, Lindsay, Therrol, Janel, Trinity, Brenton Gemma, Ian, Davis, Brad, Nick, Georgia Sofia and Grace plus three beautiful great grandsons Daniel, Aidan and Oliver. His cats Ringo and Tiger were in his heart at the end.
Andy has left us with many stories and memories to reflect upon and honour as we learn to carry on without him.
Family was able to gather and honour him on August 4th at Mount Brenton Golf Course.
