Well dear friend it's hard to accept I'm saying good bye for the last time. We had known each other for over 60 years. As kids we hung out and did what kids do. Playing Rugby and Soccer together was great with the added bonus your dad was our soccer coach.
Off we went to U.B.C in the Faculty of Science. Many hours playing hearts in the dormitory common room when we should have been studying. Your choice to enter officer training for the R.C.A.F. kept us out of touch for many years but the friendship never faded.
The 25th reunion brought you back in contact with your classmates. This lead to the famous dinner on Sunday night at the Lantern Inn. Our phone calls, visits and postcards bridged the gap between the following reunions. At the next one all of us will sadly miss you. Thanks for coming with me at the 50th to remember Richard.
I'll miss our philosophical discussions even at 3 am in the morning. I hope you found some answers. My life and I know many others was enriched by knowing you.
Your "OLD" friend Pat and The Class of 66.
Sadly Alvin's journey with his partner Suzanne Parent ended at the same time near Port Hope, Ontario on the 13/Aug/2022. To know more about their wonderful life together see the Ottawa Citizen obituary for Alvin & Suzanne.
