It is with great sadness we announce the death of Al Scott after a long courageous battle with cancer. At the age of 78, he passed away peacefully at the Yuculta Lodge.
Born in Plymouth, Nova Scotia, he is predeceased by his mother Ethel (Lucy) LeBlanc, his father Allison Borden Scott and his brother Paul LeBlanc.
Survived by his wife Carole (Harris) Scott of 49 years, son Darren (Shala) Scott, daughter Kelley (Michael Greenhough) Scott, 4 granddaughters, Jenna and Jaimee Scott & Brooke and Devyn Greenhough, brother Gerald (Velma) Scott and sister Rose Nickerson, as well as many numerous relatives in Nova Scotia.
Al left home at an early age to find work in Ontario. He worked at numerous jobs over his lifetime finally getting a trade in painting. After retirement, he moved from Port Alberni to Campbell River to be near his children and grandchildren.
Al was a very social person and enjoyed being around family and friends. He loved watching his son Darren play baseball and enjoyed watching sports on T.V. Al always made a point to talking to his friends and relatives in Nova Scotia every day. Later in life, his greatest pleasure was playing crib at the Eagles and he looked forward to seeing all his friends there.
Special thanks to Dr. Prinsloo, Dr. Farias and to the home support workers for their excellent care.
