December 20, 1936 - July 22, 2020
Born in Alberta, Allan called Ladysmith home since he was 6 months old.
Words cannot express the sadness felt over the passing of our loving Father, Papa, Great Papa, and Husband of 64 years.
Predeceased by his parents Murray and Lauretta Lowe and sisters, Delores and Peggy.
Survived by his loving wife, Arlene; daughters, Karen (Chris), Sandy (Dwayne), Leslie (Tonny); son, Grant; Grandchildren, Kalie, Krista, Jillian, Jessica, Cameron; Great Grandchildren, Andee Dot, Dallas, Chance, and baby girl due in October; Sister, Connie; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Allan was an active member in the ILWU - Local 508 Longshoreman Union and Foreman for VI Stevedoring - Local 514. He was a strong, proud, and committed union activist who cared deeply about his colleagues, their families, and the support and success of future generations. He will live on through the accomplishments that his Brothers and Sisters continue to benefit from today.
Allan loved his family deeply. He was an avid gardener, proud to nourish his family and friends with his abundance of fruit and vegetables. He was a wise man full of quiet reflection and deep thoughts. He was a creative - always finding or creating something to share with those close to him. His family and his furry "blue boy" will miss him dearly.
We will carry him with us always, through the many memories of love and laughter, and the pieces of his heart that he has left behind.
Allan was truly a treasure among treasures.
