Freda, of Sidney, BC, passed on February 2, 2021. She was born on July 12, 1937, to Alfred & Grace Andrew in Edmonton, Alberta.
She was predeceased by her older brother, Robert (Bob), and her husband of 51 years, John (Jack) Dunlop Reid, in April 2019. Freda is survived by her son John (Brenda), her older sister Grace, and a large extended family.
Freda taught elementary school in Namao, Cranbrook, Happy Valley, and Vancouver with a teaching exchange in England and 2 in Australia where she maintained some life-long friendships. Freda was devoted to her church in Brentwood Bay which joined with Shady Creek. She enjoyed traveling and meeting people. Freda will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A special thank you to her niece, Allison, for the in-home care and companionship these past few years. The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital in the Palliative Care Unit.
