In Loving Memory ~
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Albert William Jasken. Albert passed away peacefully in his home on Feb 28, 2022.
He is survived by his loving wife Sherry, Son Terry (Carolyn) Karen (Sean) Rick, Sharilyn (Vince) Grandchildren Chandra, Raylene (Corey) Jerad, Chris, Brad (Danelle) Stephen (Taylor) Shauna (Dylan) Justin (Ashley) Kori (Alex) MItchell (Stephanie) Ryan, Kennedy (Joe) Great Grandchildren Hayley, Kaylehb, Kaliyah, Cassidy, Kenzie, Kholton, Alex, Carter, Colton, Brooklyn, Kayden, Chanel, Lili, Tayla and Zachary.
Al was predeceased by his father John, mother Pauline, brothers Melvin, Sylvester and Arnold.
Albert was born in Humbolt Saskatchewan on Oct 31, 1938. A Halloween baby. He was the 3rd child of 9 kids to John and Pauline Jasken. Albert came to Port Alberni, B.C. looking for work with his brother Mel where he met the love of his life, Sherry.
He returned to Saskatchewan and came back as promised and began his life in Port Alberni. He worked for MacMillan Bloedel, Cameron Div, China creek as an outside boat operator for 42 years. Al retired at the age of 61. He was an avid curler, hockey player, ball player, square dancer, lawn bowler and enjoyed hunting trips to Saskatchewan and particularly fishing around Vancouvers islands east and west coasts.
Home for Al was his acreage in Beaver Creek that he lovingly tendered and cherished the seeds he produced. He was a hard worker and loved his family more than anything and his many friends getting together for dinners and card games.
A Memorial Service will be held at The Chapel of Memories (4005 Sixth Ave Port Alberni B.C.) on Saturday March 19 at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made directly to a charity of one's choice.
