Alana Betty Leung (nee Lang)

Alana passed away peacefully at Trillium Lodge in Parksville, surrounded by her loved ones.

She faced her lengthy illness with unending dignity and courage. She was born in Vancouver and graduated from Port Alberni Secondary School.

Alana was predeceased by her parents Betty and Wally Lang.

Alana leaves behind her loving husband Tom McGregor, son Michael (Julia) Wood, daughter Laureen (Niell) Wood, step-son Ryan McGregor, sister, Pat (Bill Taylor), brother Richard (Sylvia), grandchildren; Taylor, Lauryn, Georgia, and Sophia, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Alana worked at the Royal Bank from 1980 to 2006, retiring in Qualicum. She was a dedicated employee with a cheerful engaging smile, respectful and tactful to all customers.

Alana was an extremely patient, kind, trusting and gentle mannered person and was a devoted loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She loved to share times, smiles, laughter, and special moments with family and friends. Her motto was: "Together is a wonderful place to be!"

Throughout her later life, Alana maintained a high level of fitness; paddle boarding, West Coast Trail hiking, swimming, marathoning, and working out at Kick Start Fitness, encouraging her friends with her enthusiastic, passionate, energized laugh, to give it their best.

At home, Alana enjoyed her baking and cooking for special occasions, writing out birthday and thank you cards, gardening, grooming her dog Sam, sunbathing, maintaining her home, and feeling secure there, knowing that her husband felt well cared for.

Heartfelt thanks to all the nurses and volunteers at Trillium who shared in making Alana's journey comforting and respectful, as well as her many friends and family for their support, laughter, love, and stories.

A special thank you to Debbie J for sharing Alana's entire journey from the BC Cancer Agency visits to Trillium Lodge.
